In the process, floating cherries were removed, and the coffee underwent natural drying with 2 days of pre-drying on ceramic ground, 10 days on an African bed, and final mechanical drying in a Guardiola. Aquiares Estate was founded in 1890 by British farmers, gaining a reputation for high-quality washed coffees in Costa Rica. The estate built trade relationships with several countries and launched a housing project in 1992, achieving 96% homeownership among its employees. The Aquiares community is prosperous and has a strong commitment to quality, bringing loyalty and pride to the product. The name "Aquiares" means "land between rivers" in the indigenous Huetar language.
