Elida Estates: A Family Legacy of Exceptional Coffee
Founded in 1918, Elida Estates is a fourth-generation family-run enterprise in Panama, currently managed by the Lamastus family. It consists of several farms—Elida Estate, El Burro Estate, Luito Geisha Estate, and Trompo Geisha—located in diverse highland regions up to 2,160 meters above sea level. Each farm is distinguished by its unique microclimate and soil, contributing to its exceptional terroir.
El Burro Estate, partly within the Baru Volcano National Park, is renowned for its volcanic soils, pristine forests, and distinctive climatic conditions. Here, Geisha coffee is processed as a natural coffee, dried on beds for 20-30 days, and stored in a controlled environment for optimal quality preservation. This careful attention ensures that the coffee maintains its distinctive flavor profile from farm to roaster
Elida Estate is the highest coffee farm in Panama, where Arabica coffee is grown in volcanic soils at altitudes of 1,700-2,500 meters. The coffee is hand-picked and processed with care, preserving the environment and ensuring superior quality.
